We are a team of researchers from King Juan Carlos University, specializing in Network Science, Signal Processing, and Optimization. Our group includes professors, PhD candidates, and MSc students, all driven by curiosity, scientific discovery, and a shared goal: pushing the boundaries of knowledge.
Collaboration is at the core of our work. We actively engage with national and international research teams, forming a strong network of experts in data analysis, mathematical modeling, and machine learning. Our interdisciplinary approach connects specialists in optimization, signal processing, Bayesian estimation, and neural networks with domain experts in fields such as clinical data, transportation systems, meteorology, acoustics, and financial analysis.
We live in an interconnected world where millions of devices generate and store unprecedented amounts of information every day. Properly processing this data, extracting knowledge, and learning from it is essential, not only to address the challenges organizations face but also to enable optimal decision, making in professional, institutional, and scientific environments. On top of this, modern data is highly diverse, often incomplete, may contain imperfections, and the relationships between variables are not always known, making analysis and processing significantly more complex. This calls for a comprehensive approach that integrates optimization techniques, signal processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to effectively process, visualize, and extract meaningful insights from data. Such a holistic approach must be tailored to the specific characteristics of each dataset, ensuring that all phases of the project lifecycle align with the nature of the data being analyzed.
Within this context, our research focuses on understanding and analyzing complex networks, developing advanced methods for learning from graph-based data, and applying these techniques to fields such as telecommunications, biological systems, and transportation.
We have experience in dozens of competitive national and international projects, having collaborated with more than 10 leading foreign research groups (USA, UK, Netherlands, Sweden...). We also have numerous collaborations with companies through article 83 contracts. In short, we are a multidisciplinary group with leading researchers and technological experts, including both university staff and professionals from the public and private sectors.
